SUNY Niagara Today Procedure

SUNY Niagara Today is an email vehicle for campus employees to share college-related items of general interest with the college community. It is automatically delivered daily at 8 a.m. to all campus employees’ email addresses. Campus employees may not unsubscribe from SUNY Niagara Today.

Employees must create a WordPress account to access the online form used to submit items for publication in SUNY Niagara Today. This is the only method of submission.

Each item can include one image. Items cannot include attachments.

Submitters are responsible for the quality of items that they submit to SUNY Niagara Today. They must:

  • submit only items directly related to SUNY Niagara;
  • submit text items as text, not as part of an image;
  • proofread each item that they submit; and
  • ensure the correctness and completeness of each item that they submit.

In addition, submitters must gain the permission of the vice president of their division prior to submitting any item regarding fundraising. Also, only vice presidents can publish death announcements.

At its sole discretion, the PR Office will determine whether submitted items are appropriate for SUNY Niagara Today.

SUNY Niagara Today is largely automated. It displays the name of each item’s submitter. It presents items by category in the order that they are submitted. It publishes all new, approved items submitted by 2 p.m. the previous day.

SUNY Niagara Today items also appear on a SUNY Niagara Today webpage. The college may use SUNY Niagara Today items in other communications.
