Website Top 10 for July

The PR office tracks the most common points of entry to the college’s website on a month-to-month basis. In July these URLs— they all with “www.sunyniagara.edu”—were the top landing pages:

  1. /
  2. /college-for-working-professionals/…
  3. /suny-niagara-banner-web/
  4. (not set)
  5. /nfci/savor/
  6. /apply/
  7. /nfci/
  8. /academics/calendar-2/
  9. /tuition/residency/
  10. /careers/

At number one again is the homepage, “/.” There’s no surprise there.

However, there was a change at No. 2. PR’s advertising campaign to attract 25-to-55-year-olds to SUNY Niagara helped make “/college-for-working-professionals/” the second most landed on page last month, up from No. 3 in June.

Other changes among the top landing pages hint at greater interest in enrollment-related content. The “/academics/calendar-2/,” “/tuition/residency/” and “/careers/” pages all entered the top 10 in July. What’s interesting about those pages is that they speak to questions about when the semester will start, how much school will cost, and what graduates can do with their degrees. These are things that users returning to the site would want to know.

Finally, at No. 4 we have a bit of a mystery. A page listed as “(not set)” could have a configuration problem. It could result from deleting pages, which PR does. But for “(not set)” to crack the top 10, we might be looking at something less troublesome: derelict user sessions. When a page sits idle for a certain period of time, our analytics software doesn’t record it being landed on. We will keep an eye on this and see if “(not set)” falls out of August’s top 10.
