SUNY Niagara Print Initiative

Campus Community,

As we near the end of our first term under the SUNY Niagara Print Initiative program, the Committee would like to thank everyone for their support and cooperation.  We are pleased to report the time between program hiccups continues to increase.

Below are a few program updates since our last communication:

• How to Instructions:
  Laura Kowalczyk from OIT created simple, easy-to-follow instructions for setting EcoSMART as your default printer and for using the stapler feature.  These guides are now available on the FYI page – select Miscellaneous under the Main Menu.   EcoSMART helps reduce energy usage, toner consumption and paper waste – for example, by automatically printing double-sided (duplex) when appropriate.

• Replenishing Staples:
  All HP devices support stapling.  Stapling is also available on Toshiba devices located in FRCAE_D-106; ACE_D-200; C-Building_C-224 & C-238.  Contact OIT if a device needs staples replenished. 

• Toner Replacement:
  Toner is auto-shipped to College once a device reaches a defined low-level threshold.  If toner runs out before shipment arrive, please contact OIT.

• Old Toner Cartridges:
  Send old toner cartridges to OIT for proper recycling.

• Removal of Office Desktop Printers:
  As a reminder, OIT will be removing desktop printers from offices in the coming months.  During this process, OIT staff will collect the printers along with associated cables and supplies.
