Brand Validation Study Launching Soon

In 2022 the Office of Public Relations and Event Management undertook a research initiative that culminated in 2024 with the rebranding of Niagara County Community College as SUNY Niagara. Now, two years after its launch, the PR office is revisiting that work.

We hope that the new brand is true to the college—clear, easy to understand, and a positive reflection of our institutional values. This spring, we are beginning a study to see if it is, or if we need to adjust how the institution is presented.

One part of this project will be a brief, anonymous survey to employees, among others, which I expect to open soon. The college will only use the data the survey collects to understand how the SUNY Niagara brand has been received. Even completing just part of this survey will be of tremendous value.

I am also looking for a few volunteers to discuss the college in a bit more detail in one focus group for faculty members and another for staff members. The college’s website development partner Northern Commerce will host both focus groups via Zoom. Each will last about an hour.

The faculty focus group will take place 3–4 p.m., April 1. The staff focus group has not been scheduled yet. If you would be interested in taking part in one of these, then email hlegg@niagaracc.suny.edu.
