A Warm Welcome to Mary Lou D’Allegro

SUNY Niagara’s new grant writer is Mary Lou D’Allegro, who most recently served as vice president of academic affairs at SUNY Erie. Her previous positions include vice president of academic affairs and workforce development at Luzerne County Community College in Pennsylvania, dean of curriculum and instruction at the State Technical College of Missouri, and associate provost at Paul Smith’s College. D’Allegro holds a doctor of education in higher education leadership from Nova Southeastern University, master’s degrees from Montclair State University and Stevens Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton.

D’Allegro enjoys hiking, biking and gardening in her free time. An accomplished competitive swimmer, D’Allegro’s times in several events placed her among the top 20 nationwide. Her bucket list trips include visits to Norway and the Grand Canyon.
