ACE: Fall 2025 Updates & Reminders
Dear Faculty and Staff,
Welcome back! We’re very excited for the upcoming academic year—especially after last year, which was our busiest on record. We wanted to share a few quick updates from the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) that you may find helpful for both you and your students:
- Penji Access
All faculty have access to Penji, our tutoring platform. You can log in here: ACE Penji Portal. We’re still in the process of adding our new hires, so expect to see more Student Tutors appearing in the system over the next few weeks. - SUNY Niagara Planners
They’re back! Thanks to Student Life and the Student Success Committee, SUNY Niagara planners are once again available for students. Please send them our way (ACE, D-201) to grab a free copy—supplies are limited. - New Tutoring Service
We’re excited to welcome Aaron to the ACE team! Aaron will be working with students on academic skills such as:
- Time management
- Organization
- Self-efficacy
- Note taking
- Study skills
He’s available for one-on-one appointments in Penji, small group sessions (like athletic study halls), and even classroom workshops. We’ll also be rolling out additional resources for online students soon—more to come!
- Pharos Printing
With the new Pharos printing system, ACE is here to support students who may need help getting set up. We have simple, step-by-step handouts for both students and staff, so feel free to send anyone our way. - Family Rooms
Both ACE and the Lewis Library now offer Family Rooms for students who are accompanied by children. These spaces give students a place to study while providing a safe, engaging environment for their kids. Click here to see photos of the ACE Family Study Room.. - ACE in the Classroom (Sept. 2–12)
We’d love to visit your class during the first two weeks of the semester for a quick, 5-minute overview of our free tutoring and support services. Even if it’s last-minute, give us a call (ext. 6724 – ACE Front Desk, or ext. 6453 – Madison), and we’ll do our best to send someone your way. Request a classroom visit here. - Coffee with a Tutor
Mark your calendars! In partnership with Student Life, ACE is hosting Coffee with a Tutor on:
- Monday, September 8 (10am – 1pm)
- Tuesday, September 16 (10am – 1pm)
Stop by for coffee, conversation, and a chance to see the changes we’ve made to ACE over the summer. We’d love to connect with you!
