Attention Advisors
- Take ENG 088 as a stand-alone course
- Take ALP/ENG 088 paired with an ALP/ENG 101 course. The ALP courses provide the students with support for the ENG101 assignments and helps them to complete both courses so they do not fall behind. Ten students take ENG 101 first and then stay for the next class (ENG 088) to work on reading and writing strategies that they need to be successful here.
PSY100, Psychology of Success, will be offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1:00pm and there are no prerequisites for this course. This course was created to provide a 3 credit Social Science and Liberal Arts Elective which focuses on content designed to improve the performance of students throughout their college careers. Students are exposed to psychological theories (growth mindset, motivation, self-fulfilling prophecy, memory, etc.) while learning how to apply these concepts to their own learning processes and study habits. It is particularly recommended for students who are taking ENG 088 and ALP/ENG088 or any foundational course. First-semester students, students interested in psychology who are completing prerequisites before they can take PSY 110, and students who are on academic notice would greatly benefit from taking this course.
