Cooking with Love in Buffalo’s East Side
Partnering with a Dietician from St. Joseph’s, Chef Emily delivered three classes over three weeks at the center on Buffalo’s East Side. Students didn’t just learn — they left fully equipped to cook at home, taking away printed recipes, every ingredient needed for those recipes, and a bag of Chef Emily’s favorite kitchen tools.
The Response to Love Center serves the less fortunate community through a daily soup kitchen and a client-choice food pantry in the 14212 zip code — offering halal and culturally diverse options that honor the multicultural community it proudly serves.
The center’s food pantry empowers individuals to select foods that suit their dietary needs, cultural preferences, and personal tastes — a model built on dignity and respect. Its soup kitchen provides warm, nutritious daily meals that nourish both body and spirit, staffed by compassionate volunteers who show up every single day.
Chef Emily is grateful to Councilman Mitch Nowakowski for securing the grant funding that made this program possible — and she’s already looking ahead to expanding the partnership with Response to Love Center.
