Interim Administrator Opportunities – Student Services Division
SUNY Niagara invites internal candidates to apply for several interim administrator opportunities within the Student Services Division. These newly created roles are part of an exciting transformation of Student Life and will help shape an innovative model designed to enhance student engagement, belonging, and success.

Assistant Director of Athletics
This is a full-time, 12-month, grant-funded administrative position responsible for planning, directing, and implementing the College’s Intramural & Recreation program. Responsibilities include program development, supervision of staff, and facility management, including contest support. Duties may evolve based on program needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Recreation, Higher Education, Education, or a related field
- 3–5 years of combined supervisory experience in student services, athletics, coaching, education, or a related field
Salary Range: $56,754 – $65,267
Director, Center of Student Engagement, Leadership & Innovation
This full-time, 12-month, grant-funded position reports to the AVP of Student Services and Athletics and provides strategic leadership for student engagement, leadership development, orientation, community service, and Basic Needs programming.
The Director leads the department’s Engagement-to-Impact Continuum, aligning student involvement with measurable outcomes such as belonging, retention, and student success. This role is a key member of the Student Services Leadership Team and contributes to institutional strategy and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, Counseling, or related field
- Seven years of progressively responsible experience in student engagement, leadership development, or student support programs
- Experience supervising staff and managing budgets
- Demonstrated commitment to equity-centered programming and student success
- Strong skills in strategic planning, collaboration, communication, and data-informed decision-making
Salary Range: $69,320 – $79,718
Assistant Director of Student Engagement & Experiences
This position supports and implements student engagement programs, campus events, and student organization operations. The Assistant Director plays a key role in fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and student-centered campus environment.
Responsibilities include coordinating engagement opportunities, supporting student organizations, assisting with major campus traditions, and collaborating with campus partners to enhance the overall student experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, Educational Leadership, or related field; OR currently in the final year of a master’s program
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in student engagement, activities, event planning, or leadership development (graduate assistantship experience may be considered)
- Demonstrated ability to plan inclusive, high-quality programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
