NFCI Partners to Bring Free Produce Cutting Station to Niagara Falls City Market

NFCI’s Community Education department is taking a big step into the community it calls home. This Friday, August 14th at 10:00 AM, NFCI will launch a free produce cutting station at the Niagara Falls City Market, in partnership with Field & Fork and former NFCI student Joanna Congi.

Market shoppers who’ve purchased produce — including those using produce prescriptions or Double Up Food Bucks — can bring their haul to the NFCI tent, where culinary students will wash, cut, and bag it exactly how customers request, all at no cost.

This marks the first time NFCI has offered this service, with plans to bring it back to the market again in the future. The initiative reflects SUNY Niagara’s strategic commitment to deepening ties between the college and the surrounding community.

Joanna and Director of Community Education Emily Lonigan will preview the event on WIVB’s Daytime Buffalo this Thursday.
