Sabrina Faso to Serve as SUNY ASAP Director
Sabrina Faso has been selected to serve as the first SUNY ASAP (Advancing Success in Associate Pathways) Director at SUNY Niagara. This program will provide wrap-around services for 150 students.
Sabrina began her journey with SUNY Niagara in 2013 as an intern in the Admissions Office and quickly developed a passion for the institution and its mission. Since then, she has gained experience in Admissions, recruitment, case management, Accessibility Services, Testing, and success coaching.
These experiences have broadened Sabrina’s skill set and strengthened her ability to support students and contribute to institutional success. These experiences, combined with earning a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Buffalo State University, have prepared Sabrina to lead with both empathy and strategy.
As a first-generation college student raised in downtown Niagara Falls, Sabrina has deeply committed to advancing student access, equity, and success. While earning her degrees in Psychology and Health Sciences from SUNY Brockport, she was selected as a Ronald E. McNair Scholar and conducted research on the role of social support in students’ perceptions of college attainment. This experience reinforced Sabrina’s belief in the importance of strong support system; a principle that continues to guide her work with students every day.
The search for an ASAP Advisor to team up with Sabrina is underway.
The department will be completed with a Typist I staff member, who will share duties with the EOP office.
My thanks to the campus group, led by Caitlin Wetherwax and Stephanie Florczak, who for the past year has helped ensure that the college was awarded the ASAP program by SUNY.
Please join me in congratulating Sabrina.
