The ALICE Experience

In recognition of January as Poverty Awareness Month, the JEDI Committee invites all members of the campus community to participate in the ALICE Experience, an interactive and eye-opening poverty simulation presented by the United Way. This professional development opportunity will take place on Friday, January 9th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Dining Commons in G209.

The ALICE Experience (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) is a powerful engagement tool designed to deepen understanding of the financial hardships many individuals and families face every day. Participants will navigate real-life scenarios and decision-making challenges that reflect the lived experiences of those struggling to meet basic needs such as housing, transportation, childcare, food, and healthcare.

This simulation helps reveal the often invisible barriers within our community and encourages meaningful conversations about how we can better support students, colleagues, and neighbors who are impacted by financial instability.

Beverages and bagels will be provided.

Participation is voluntary, and all employees are welcome.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP by December 23rd using the link below:

We hope you will join us for this important and impactful experience.
