Welcome Professor Ruslana Byl

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Ruslana Byl will be joining SUNY Niagara as an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing.

Ms. Byl brings with her a strong academic background, holding a Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN) from the University of Hartford and an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from Naugatuck Valley Community College. She is currently a Level 3 Leading Nursing Instructor at SUNY Erie, where she teaches both theoretical and laboratory courses, contributes to curriculum development, and provides academic advising support to students.

Her teaching career also includes prior roles as a Clinical Instructor at Trocaire College and SUNY Erie, with clinical specializations in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatric outpatient care, and Pediatric home care. In addition to her teaching experience, Ms. Byl has a diverse clinical background, having served in various Registered Nurse roles in hospitals, outpatient clinics, home care settings, and public health settings across Connecticut and New York.

She is a licensed Registered Professional Nurse in both New York and Connecticut. She holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Mental Health First Aid. A multilingual professional, she is also a proud member of the American Nurses Association and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Ms. Byl’s commitment to lifelong learning and her student-centered approach to teaching reflect the core values of SUNY Niagara. We are confident that her knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm for nursing education will greatly benefit our students and strengthen our academic community.
