Common Violations

  • Open flame decorative devices, i.e., candles are not permitted on desk, shelf, etc., whether they’re being used or not.
  • Extension cords and flexible cords used as a substitute for permanent wiring.
  • Surge suppressors are permitted; however, they must be plugged directly into the wall.
  • Use of multi-plug adapters are not permitted.
  • Holiday lights are not permitted.
  • Fire extinguishers obstructed or obscured from view
  • Fire exit obstructed or not illuminated.
  • Exit, exit access, or exit discharge is obstructed.
  • Items stored on top of shelves stacked too high i.e. items are closer than 18” to the ceiling
  • Improper storage of combustible material.
  • Power panels must have 3 feet of clearance in front of them.
  • Doors that are blocked open with a wedge or by any other means
