Clarification on Leave Time for SUNY Niagara Golf Tournament and Other Events

We’ve received a few questions regarding the use of leave time for the upcoming SUNY Niagara Golf Tournament and other college-sponsored events. This topic was recently discussed and decided at Executive Council, and we’d like to provide the following clarification:

  • If you are paying to participate in the Golf Tournament or any other event during your scheduled work hours, you must use your vacation/PTO or personal leave time to attend.

  • If the College is covering the cost of your participation in an event held during working hours, you do not need to use leave time.

  • If you are volunteering at a SUNY Niagara-sponsored event, you are not required to use leave accruals, regardless of when the event takes place.
