Join us for a week of celebration, reflection, and service as we honor the Inauguration of Dr. Lloyd A. Holmes as SUNY Niagara’s 8th President. Below is a list of events happening from April 7–10, including several impactful volunteer opportunities. 

MONDAY, APRIL 7 – Kickoff Events

• Relax & Recharge – Free chair massages, 10:00 am–2:30 pm, Learning Commons
• King’s Gambit Chess Play – 10:00 am–11:00 am, Honors Lounge
• Open Tabletop Role-Playing Game – 10:30 am–11:30 am, Learning Commons
• Diverse Dialogue: Empowered by Hope & Belonging – 12:30 pm–1:30 pm, FRCAE D104
• Theatre Student Showcase – 2:00 pm–4:00 pm, Black Box Theatre
• Pawsitive Blankets for the SPCA – 4:00 pm–6:00 pm, Student Housing Village. All supplies provided + free Day of Service t-shirt!
• Bowling & Game Night – 4:00 pm–8:00 pm, Student Center

TUESDAY, APRIL 8 – Day of Service

Volunteer Opportunities:

• FeedMore WNY – 9:00 am–11:00 am, off-campus
• The Goodness Project – 11:00 am–1:00 pm, Buffalo, off-campus
• Serving Hope: Niagara Gospel Mission – 11:00 am–2:00 pm, off-campus
• Easter Blessings: Baskets of Hope Drive– 8:00 am–5:00 pm (donate or assemble Easter baskets), drop off locations: Student Services, Student Success Center, Athletics, and Student Life
• Build-A-Tripp Plushies & Pizza – 11:30 am–2:30 pm, Student Leadership Center, Room G244
• Annie’s Closet Clothing Drive – 1:00 pm–5:00 pm
• Slime & Smiles for Oishei Children’s Hospital – 5:00 pm–7:00 pm, Student Housing Village

All volunteers receive a free Day of Service t-shirt!

Faculty and staff may volunteer off-campus with approval from their supervisor, provided that office coverage is maintained during their absence.

• 3D Sculpture Unveiling – 1:30 pm, Art Gallery
• Voices of Hope: Poetry Readings – 2:00 pm–3:30 pm, Art Gallery
• Pickleball Tournament – 3:00 pm–4:30 pm, Gym

THURSDAY, APRIL 10 – Inauguration Day

• Inauguration Ceremony – 11:00 am–12:30 pm, Fine Arts Theatre
• Reception – 12:30 pm–2:00 pm, Learning Commons (cake by NFCI students!)
• Baseball Game vs. SUNY Erie – 2:00 & 4:00 pm, Sal Maglie Stadium
• Softball Game vs. Corning CC – 3:00 pm, Sanborn Campus (first pitch by Dr. Holmes!)
