Enrollment Update
Greetings. Here is an update on a few recruiting/enrollment initiatives:
- Summer enrollment is 17% higher than last summer.
- Fall registration is more than 8% higher compared to last year.
- Housing reservations are well ahead of last year’s pace.
- Will Brinson is going to the NF airbase periodically for recruitment.
- The NY state DOL will be hosting a jobs fair for the Cascade employees, as the company is closing operations. We will be there to offer college opportunities.
- We are now working with Motimatic for third party outreach to prospective students who have applied but not registered.
- Fifteen and our website continue to create interest and drive traffic to admissions.
- 4 members of the division attended the Slate conference and shared their take-aways with colleagues from enrollment services, IT, and IR.
- We have one additional information session for the SUNY Reconnect adult learner program. The first two have been quite successful.
- Our social media posts/videos have increased exponentially since the hiring of Sarah Gerass (PR) and Joe Kraus (Athletics).
- We will be hiring (with new SUNY funds) 3 PT employees to assist with adult learner recruitment/advising.
- We are planning a fall breakfast meeting for all service area superintendents and principals to update them on the college’s programs and seek their feedback. (More details/date to follow.)
- A retention workgroup is forming and will focus on retention efforts across campus.
- The SEM committee will use the SP as a guide for enrollment initiatives. A new SEM plan will be drafted this fall. Everyone’s input will be sought.
- The Enrollment Summit is scheduled for July 30th from 10 am to 12 noon in G211. Everyone is welcome to hear presentations and participate in discussions regarding topics that are impacting higher education.
Many thanks to enrollment services team as well as to our campus partners. The collaborative spirit is incredible.
