
Appointment of Dr. Martha Kershaw as Dean of the College of Nursing, Physical & Allied Health
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Martha E. Kershaw, Ed.D., R.N., C.N.E., as the new Dean of the College of Nursing, Physical & Allied Health, effective September 8, 2025.
Dr. Kershaw brings over three decades of experience in nursing education, leadership, and clinical practice. A proud alumna of Niagara University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Dr. Kershaw holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Daemen College and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education from Concordia University.
Most recently serving as Director of Nursing at Mitchell College, Dr. Kershaw has led the launch of a new BSN program and played an instrumental role in accreditation preparation, clinical partnerships, and faculty development. Before this, she held leadership and faculty positions at Daemen University and D’Youville College, overseeing multiple nursing programs from the associate to doctoral levels and guiding successful regulatory approvals and accreditation processes.
A certified nurse educator and licensed RN in both New York and Connecticut, Dr. Kershaw is also an experienced accreditation peer evaluator for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), a published researcher, and a recognized presenter at national conferences.
Her dedication to academic excellence, student success, and program innovation aligns with SUNY Niagara’s mission and vision for the future of health education. We are excited to welcome Dr. Kershaw back to the Niagara region and look forward to her leadership as we continue to strengthen and expand our programs in nursing, allied health, and physical sciences.
