Updates for Fall 2026 – Banner Web Faculty Alerts

Thank you for your continued input throughout the semester, based on this information, several updates have been made to Faculty Alerts (formerly known as Faculty Feedback) in Banner Web, including updates to the guide and the process for mandatory faculty reporting.

  • Updated Faculty Alerts: A Strategy In Support Of Retention Guide: The guide has been revised to reflect the current Faculty Alerts process and the mandatory reporting requirements for faculty.
  • Student Outreach and Communication: We have also clarified the outreach process, including how students are informed when faculty submit alerts and how follow-up support is coordinated.

Faculty Alerts Can Be Submitted Throughout the Semester

Please keep in mind that Faculty Alerts can be submitted at any time throughout the semester, not only during the designated mandatory windows.

When alerts are submitted, an email notification will be sent to the student on the next business day. Depending on the type of alert provided, the student’s Success Coach or the appropriate Student Service Office may also be alerted so that timely support and follow-up can be provided.

Faculty alerts can help initiate early outreach when a student may:

  • Need assistance connecting with the Online Learning Center
  • Need help accessing or obtaining course books or materials
  • Benefit from mental health or other support services
  • Need to connect with ACE
  • Benefit from additional academic or student support
  • Need encouragement and recognition

Positive feedback is important, too! Faculty alert is an opportunity to recognize student progress, encourage continued engagement, and celebrate student success; not just report concerns.

S/U, W, and I Grade Deadlines

The Faculty Alerts timelines for S/U, W, and I grades are designed to allow sufficient time for outreach and support before the applicable deadlines.

Please review the Student Calendar for the most current deadlines by which students must complete the required forms for these grade options.

Supporting Student Success

As faculty, the information you provide through Faculty Alerts is essential to our wrap-around approach to supporting student success. Whether you submit an issue, concern, recommendation, or positive recognition, the information you provide helps connect students with the appropriate resources and support.

When a student issue or concern is submitted, the student will receive an email notification the next business day, and Success Coaches or the appropriate Student Service Office will follow up and connect the student with resources as needed.

How to Submit Faculty Alerts:

Please review the Fall 2026 Faculty Alert Guide for detailed instructions. Thank you for your continued participation throughout the semester.
