Marketing Organization Names Gerass a ‘Rising Star’

National Council for Marketing & Communications (NCMPR) President Eve Markman (left) and District 1 Director Alicia Renehan (right) presented Public Relations Assistant Sarah Gerass with the organization’s District 1 Rising Star of the Year award at a regional conference in Buffalo Oct. 15.

This honor recognizes newcomers who have demonstrated special creativity or ability in marketing and public relations and show evidence of a promising future at a two-year community or technical college. Gerass is one of seven Rising Stars nationwide. The honor qualifies for consideration for the national Rising Star of the Year award and grants her tuition-free attendance at the NCMPR’s national conference in 2027.

This is the second NCMPR accolade that Gerass has received. Last year, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the organization’s 2025 regional conference in Pittsburgh.
