Celebrating Black History Month: “Together As One” Regional Events

In celebration of Black History Month 2026, we are excited to share a variety of meaningful events taking place throughout the Buffalo/Niagara region. This year’s theme, “Together As One: The Journey Continues,” features a collaborative series of exhibits, tours, and celebrations that honor the rich heritage and contributions of the Black community in Western New York.

We encourage our campus community to engage with these local opportunities:

  • Heritage Sites & Exhibits: Explore history at the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor, the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, and the Nash House Museum.
  • Support Local Creators: Visit the Broadway Market for “Black-owned Business Saturdays.”
  • Signature Celebration: The 2026 Black History Program & African Attire Gala will be held at the Sheraton Niagara Falls on February 21st
