Clear the Path: Building Barrier-Free Digital Content

Clear the Path: Building Barrier-Free Digital Content

We’re excited to announce the launch of our Fall Accessibility Training Series, designed to empower you with the tools and knowledge to create accessible documents, PDFs, videos, and much more. These training sessions will provide you with checklists and the skills to evaluate your documents so you can make sure they meet the Accessibility Title II Ruling.

This semester, we’ll be exploring powerful accessibility tools:

  • Ally – to help ensure course content meets accessibility standards.
  • Microsoft Accessibility Checker – for improving accessibility in Word documents and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Yuja Closed Captioning Tools – to enhance video accessibility through accurate and customizable captions.

Whether you’re new to these tools or looking to deepen your understanding, this training will provide guidance, best practices, and support to help you confidently integrate accessibility into your teaching and content creation.

Our first session is:

Inside the Gear: Evaluating Course Content with Ally Tools (45 min session)

This session will demonstrate how to run an Ally course report, how to interpret the report, and utilize the tools to revise content to make it more accessible.

Tuesday, September 23 @ 2:30-3:15 pm or Wednesday, September 24 @ 2:30-3:15 pm in D104 (FRCAE Large Conf. Rm) or Zoom Link
