Library Instruction and Active Learning Classroom

The Lewis Library offers instruction for your students to learn how to best use the library’s resources.  This could range from a simple tour of the library to in-depth assignment specific research instruction.  Sessions can be offered online or in-person, in your classroom on in the library’s NEW active learning classroom, and can be as short as 15 minutes or for multiple full classes.

To learn more or to make an instruction request, please fill out the form or contact Andy Yeager at ayeager@niagaracc.suny.edu or x6781.  Also contact Andy Yeager for inquires on booking the active learning classroom for special session use for your class.

Embedded Librarian

You can request a direct liaison from the library to help the students in your class with their research and information needs throughout the semester.  This service is a great way to offer personalized assistance to your students.  Librarians can be active in the course to the extent the teaching faculty member prefers.  Examples of  ways librarians can interact with students include:

  • being embedded into Brightspace and communicating with students there
  • conducting library instruction sessions online or in-person
  • creating a subject guide (LibGuide) that helps students find information particular to their class assignments

To learn more or to have a librarian assigned to your class, please contact Andy Aquino at aaquino@niagaracc.suny.edu or x6791.
