Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a nationally known program that extends the concept of traditional 1st aid training to mental health and substance use challenges.  It teaches participants how to recognize signs and symptoms and approach and assist other adults who may be developing a mental health challenge or in a mental health crisis.  Participants learn skills to offer support and reassurance and provide referrals and information.

This training takes the fear and hesitation out of talking about mental health and gives people the tools to start these conversations, so more people can get stigma-free support.
