Mental Health First Aid Training

The Health & Wellness Center is looking to hold a training for Mental Health First Aid by the end of the semester.  We need to have at least 5 participants to hold the training, and it can be held in one 8 hour day or two 4 hour sessions.  We would love your help to decide when is the best time to hold this training!

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a nationally known program that extends the concept of traditional 1st aid training to mental health and substance use challenges.  It teaches participants how to recognize signs and symptoms and approach and assist another adults who may be developing a mental health challenge or in a mental health crisis.  Participants learn skills to offer support and reassurance and provide referrals and information.

This training takes the fear and hesitation out of talking about mental health and gives people the tools to start these conversations, so more people can get stigma-free support.

It is a great tool to help our campus community and those in our personal networks!

If interested in this training, please fill out this survey, Mental Health First Aid so we can find a time that works best for everyone.
