Piano Recital at Dolce Valvo Art Center

Please join us!

Tuesday February 3rd at 2:30 pm in the Dolce Valvo Art Center for a piano recital by Michael McNeill.

From the artist:

Anchoring the program is Dorothy Rudd Moore’s “Dream and Variations” (1974), a work of rugged, mid-20th-century American modernism that explores “a land of dreams which range from euphoric bliss to nightmarish disturbance”. I’ll also play her brief, cheerier “A Little Whimsy”. I’ll play a few of my own pieces, too, some highlighting the ethereal resonances of the piano. Bookending the recital will be Alexander Scriabin’s Eight Etudes, op. 42 (1903), works of sumptuous late Romanticism that hint at that composer’s dramatic developments of the ensuing decade.
