Using Library Permalinks to Share Course Materials
Please Use Permalinks for Course Materials Sourced from the Library’s Databases
To remain copyright compliant distributing articles or book chapters that are found through the Lewis Library’s electronic collection in your class, please share permalinks in Brightspace or through other platforms to direct students to the material. Please to not download the article from the library’s databases and upload a copy to Brightspace. This is not a copyright compliant practice. Neither is printing and handing out out a pdf copy of an article that can be found via the library’s resources.
All databases will have a tool that allows you to copy the permalink of a specific article, book chapter, etc. Also, do not use the URL link at the top of your browser, this will not work. If you are not familiar with permalinks, here is an instruction sheet on how to find them in our most popular databases.
Also, please reach out to the library if you would like help sourcing materials you use in the classroom.
