Welcome Md Omar Faruk

SUNY Niagara’s newest assistant professor in electronics technology is Md Omar Faruk. His higher education experience is extensive and includes roles lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at Atish Dipankar University of Science & Technology in Bangladesh, the University of Tennessee, the University of California, Irvine, and Norfolk State University in Virginia. Faruk is completing a doctorate in electrical engineering at the University of Tennessee. He holds master’s degrees from Norfolk State University and the University of Dhaka, where he also earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering and received the faculty’s Gold Medal Award.

Faruk enjoys spending time with family, reading, and taking walks. He is a fan of soccer and cricket, particularly international cricket matches involving Bangladesh. He hopes to someday own a telescope to share his interest in science and space exploration with his children.
