Women’s hoops qualifies for Nationals

Host SUNY Niagara held off hard-charging SUNY Sullivan, 64-60, in the East A District Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Thunderwolves, who led by as many as 15 points in the first half, improved to 27-3 overall. Sullivan fell to 12-7.

SUNY Niagara advances to the NJCAA Div. II Tournament, which will be played March 17-22 in Joplin, Missouri. This will be the program’s fifth appearance at Nationals.

The Thunderwolves will learn their seed, opponent and game time during the NJCAA Div. II Selection Show at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
