CHAMPIONSHIP CLINCHED! Thunderwolves win first World Series crown

Eight runs through the first three innings helped No. 3 SUNY Niagara record a 12-8 victory against No. 2 Rowan College South Jersey Gloucester, 12-8, in the NJCAA Div. III World Series championship game Wednesday in Johnson City, Tennessee. The blue-and-gold clinched its first national championship in its 59-year history and only the fourth in SUNY Niagara history (Bowling in 1976 and 1979 and Wrestling in 2026). Making its 10th all-time appearance at the World Series and its first trip to the finals since 2021, SUNY Niagara finished with a 55-6 record — a new single-season record in wins.
