SNA Welcomed Mercy Flight

The Student Nurses Association was honored to host Jim Honeck from Mercy Flight, who delivered an informative presentation on the organization’s mission, operations, and the critical services it provides to the community. Honeck offered an inside look at Mercy Flight’s role in emergency medical transport, emphasizing the coordination, rapid response, and advanced care involved in both air and ground services.

A key focus of the presentation was the integral role nurses play within the Mercy Flight team. Honeck highlighted the specialized skills, clinical judgment, and adaptability required of flight nurses, underscoring their essential contribution to patient stabilization and care during transport.

This session provided students with valuable exposure to a unique area of nursing practice, reinforcing the diverse career pathways available within the profession and the impact nurses have in high-acuity, fast-paced environments.
