Academic Deficiency – Required Academic Affairs Reporting

Academic Deficiency reporting in Banner Web opened February 20 and closes at the end of the day on Thursday, February 26. Academic Affairs will notify identified students, and Success Coaches will follow up with outreach. Faculty should submit all feedback by the deadline.

– To report, log into Banner Web, select Faculty and Advisor Services, then Faculty Feedback. Choose your course and click the row to open the class roster.
– Click the arrow next to each student’s name to expand options. For each student, report Academic Deficiency or positive recognition, and include recommendations and comments that students can view.

ATTENTION: Faculty Feedback During Census Weeks

Weeks 3–4 Census period, an updated attendance reporting option, “Attended less than 50%,” is now available to support early student outreach. This option initiates support outreach and does not result in de-registration; “Not Attended” will still trigger administrative withdrawal. Faculty also shared that Low Participation and Missed Assignments are the most relevant indicators at this stage and can now be reported in Faculty Feedback.

UPDATES FOR SPRING 2026 – BANNER WEB FACULTY FEEDBACK (EARLY ALERTS)

Faculty Senate feedback led to updates in Faculty Feedback within Banner Web.

– Weeks 1–2, faculty may optionally submit alerts for early-semester concerns to prompt outreach from Success Coaches.
– Weeks 3–4 (Census), a new “Attended less than 50%” option is being added to initiate student outreach without de-registration, while “Not Attended” will still result in administrative withdrawal.
