For the first time since 2014, SUNY Niagara women’s volleyball recorded a postseason win and swept Jamestown Community College in three sets (25-16, 25-9, 25-23) during the NJCAA Region III sub-regional round Tuesday in Sanborn. As a result, the Thunderwolves will compete in the NJCAA Region III tournament Oct. 31 – Nov. 1 at Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua.

SUNY Niagara men’s basketball will play 30 regular-season games on its 2026-27 schedule. Thunderwolves head coach Bill Beilein, who has won a program-record 354 games and is entering his 18th season, announced the news Friday. Â
SUNY Niagara will play 14 home games in Sanborn and 16 on the road, including in three different states. The Thunderwolves will also once again face their WNYAC opponents — Erie, Jamestown and Monroe — in a home-and-home series.Â

SUNY Niagara women’s volleyball recorded three consecutive three-set sweeps over the Labor Day holiday. The Thunderwolves defeated Monroe Community College in WNYAC action Thursday in Rochester and followed up with wins against SUNY Corning Community College and SUNY Broome in a NJCAA Region III pod Saturday in Corning.
SUNY Niagara is now 4-1 this season. This is SUNY Niagara’s longest win streak since winning four consecutive matches from Oct. 4-9, 2014.
SUNY Niagara hosts SUNY Erie in a WNYAC tilt at 6 p.m. Thursday in Sanborn and look for its first win against the Kats since Oct. 9, 2014.

SUNY Niagara golf head coach Matt Oleski has stepped down after 14 seasons to spend more time with his young family. SUNY Niagara Director of Athletics Bob McKeown announced the news Wednesday.
An eight-time NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year recipient, Oleski led the Thunderwolves to six regional championships (2019, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025, 2026) and four regional medalists. Oleski also had SUNY Niagara make seven NJCAA Division III appearances (2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025, 2026), where the team’s score of 1,239 in 2025 is the lowest at nationals in school history.
